PRODUCTION MANAGER – WOMEN’S APPAREL

JOB DESCRIPTION

KOCH is a rapidly growing contemporary line specializing in handmade garments. We are currently looking to add a new member to our small team who will oversee all aspects of production. A production manager is involved with the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes. They ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. This person will direct the internal process to increase efficiencies and continuously improve the production strategy, process, and management of priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the entire product development and production process for women’s apparel from initial design concept through to bulk production
  • Involved with product design and purchasing
  • Facilitating early materials ordering to guarantee on time delivery
  • Partnering with our vendors to source, cost, and achieve margin
  • Collection costing – gather costing data, including yields, fabric widths, production cost, and duty. Negotiate with vendors and counter source if needed to achieve margin goals.
  • Tracking and approving all samples and monitoring their costs
  • Ensuring that production is cost effective
  • Managing all lead-time and minimum issues
  • Creating, tracking, and managing bulk production orders
  • Coordinate import of all bulk fabric, trim and finished goods
  • Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
  • Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality
  • Overseeing the production calendar and schedule to ensure all deadlines are met by vendors and manufacturing. Follow up daily to ensure all deadlines and milestones are reached in a timely manner. 
  • Managing shipments to wholesale accounts
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors and manufacturing in an effective and motivating manner
  • Coordinate special projects that drive results and brand initiatives including website production and pop up shop production
  • Working with the KOCH Team to implement the company’s policies and goals

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to drive to workrooms
  • Initiative and sense of urgency; demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Windows-based software such as Excel and Word
  • Highly organized
  • Patient
  • Able to adapt and excel in a rapidly changing and growing environment
  • Strong ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility
