HOW FAILING BIG DIDN'T KEEP WALT DISNEY FROM CREATING ONE OF THE HAPPIEST PLACES ON EARTH

HOW FAILING BIG DIDN'T KEEP WALT DISNEY FROM CREATING ONE OF THE HAPPIEST PLACES ON EARTH
Did you know that at age 22, Walt Disney was fired from a Missouri newspaper because his editor felt he "lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” He also started a company prior to Disney that went bankrupt. He then got denied over 300 times from financiers for his Mickey Mouse concept-themed park. Well we know how things ended up for him, with his world-famous theme parks and one of the most revered companies of all time – not to mention 59 Academy Award nominations (and 32 wins).
I love this story because we need constant reminders that failure can’t stop us from creating thriving, joyful companies, experiences and relationships.

Trust me…I have failed many times, but in connecting the dots, I realize these failures helped me create KOCH, which is fueled by a community of people who don’t give up and have a curiosity about life. We’re a community of people who want to build things and a group of idea-seekers and innovators. I know this because of the amazing e-mails and DM’s I get about making a mark, building a brand, starting a company, and co-creating. I know this by watching our interns go out into the world and start their own companies.

This is what sets the KOCH community apart – the ability to not allow setbacks or disappointments to stop us from making our mark on the world. We use challenges as a way to rise above, and why can we do this?  Because we as a community believe in life, and we are not quitters. KOCH girls forge ahead until our dreams are realized, and we do this with our purpose always driving us forward, with the understanding that hardships are part of our journey and that discipline is a force for good. We also are a community who builds each other up and celebrates our differences. We understand that having an authentic voice is critical to success. You can’t create by comparison.

Walt Disney understood that his voice and vision were unique. You were created to be you. Embrace all of yourself, especially your failures, because in them there is magic. God cannot bless something you pretend to be, so in the quiet of your mind, accept all of you, including the failures and the flaws. And always know that nothing can stop you from building your personal Disneyland, a place where your dreams come true, because as we know from Walt DISNEY, failing big can’t stop you.

We released our First Spring delivery this week with so many new styles and prints. My favorite is the Juliette Dress and the Piper Top. I also can’t get enough of the red hearts PRINTS! Here is the link to check it out: SPRING 2021 COLLECTION
